Driving Change: YSAD Partners with Abia State for Safer Roads

In a bold step toward ensuring sanity on Nigerian roads, YSAD launched its “No Dey Give; Follow Traffic Rules” campaign, targeting extortion and promoting road safety. On September 17, 2024, the team paid an advocacy visit to Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu, the Abia State Commissioner for Transport, seeking the ministry’s support for this vital initiative.

Motorists across Nigeria face mounting frustrations, not only due to skyrocketing fuel prices but also persistent extortion by law enforcement agencies. Addressing these issues is urgent, as they significantly impact the safety and well-being of citizens.

During the meeting, the YSAD team was warmly received by Commissioner Ukaegbu, who praised their initiative and expressed a strong commitment to collaborate with YSAD. He emphasized that the Abia State Ministry of Transport fully endorses the “No Dey Give; Follow Traffic Rules” campaign, aligning with the vision of Dr. Alex Otti’s administration to foster a robust transport system in Abia State.

Together, YSAD and the ministry aim to create a safer and more accountable driving environment, reinforcing the importance of adherence to traffic rules and the fight against corruption.
